Cara Expansi Huawei Oceanstor 5500 V3 & 5500 V3


   Berikut ini saya bermaksud untuk sedikit memberi penjelasan mengenai bagaimana cara melakukan ekspansi sebuah Storage (dalam hal ini saya menggunakan Storage dari Huawei Oceanstor 5500 V3). dengan semakin bertambah waktu, maka kebutuhan media penyimpanan data (Storage), akan semakin bertambah pula. Asumsi awal di sini saya hanya memiliki 1 buah Enclosure Huawei Storage Oceanstor 5500 V3. Kemudian secara bertahap dari waktu ke waktu, saya berkeinginan untuk menambah kapasitas FreeSpace storage saya. Salah satu caranya dengan melakukan ekspansi dengan menambahkan Disk Enclosure (Expansions).
     Secara konseptual network untuk penambahan Disk Enclosure, saya akan menggambarkan skema ekspansi tersebut, seperti gambar di bawah ini :

NOTES
:
  5300 V3 & 5500 V3 Networking principle

1.Connect the expansion interface module in controller A to expansion module A of a disk enclosure,and connect the expansion interface module in controller B to expansion module B of a disk enclosure.

2.All the EXP ports on the storage system can connect only to the PRI ports. An incorrect connection will cause a service interruption.

3.Common and high-density disk enclosures cannot be connected to one expansion loop.

4.Each expansion loop of high-density disk enclosures must be connected to two adjacent ports(excluding ports P1 and P2)of the 12 Gbit/s SAS interface module on a controller enclosure,for example, ports P0 and P1 or ports P2 and P3.
5.If the storage system is configured with two or more disk enclosures,you are recommended to build up multiple loops according to the number of expansion ports on the controller enclosure,and the disk enclosures should be evenly allocated to the loops.

6.Except that the configuration disk enclosure must be directly connected to controller A and controller B,all other disk enclosures in the same expansion loop must form two independent and redundant links to achieve optimal network reliability.

7.You are advised to cascade not more than 5 (SAS/NL-SAS),2 (SSD) or 2 (SSD/SAS/NL-SAS mixed) disk enclosures to a pair of SAS expansion ports in daily configuration.Two SAS ports bonded can connect to a maximum of eight high-density disk enclosures.

8.The IP Scale-out networking mode applies to V300R002 or later.

9.2U disk enclosures are used as examples in the network diagram.If you need a cabling diagram of 4U disk enclosures,use the Customize function or send your requirement to
infoit@huawei.com.

10.DAEXXX indicates the disk enclosure ID. The first number represents ID of the controller enclosure connected to the disk enclosure,the second number ID of the loop where the disk enclosure resides,the third number ID of the disk enclosure in the loop. For example,DAE001 indicates the second disk enclosure on the first expansion loop of the first controller enclosure.
